Clarion Hotel Trondheim

The lobby was stunning. My room was extremely nice and quite comfortable. The food /drink I had at the bar was outstanding

The hotel has a nice location, not exactly the city center but very close to it. Quiet area without any noise from traffic and bars. Good breakfast with rich selection. Convenient underground parking. It was warm in the my room.

The staff were amazing, helpful knowledgeable and went over and beyond to help in any way they could. The breakfast was a huge banquet!! With so much to choose from, hot food, a huge selection of cold food, juices, and even extra vit min shots of ginger and apple, and vit c in a bottle. We saw the selection at lunch time and there is an option to have lunch but its mostly caters for conference delegates. "The Coffee" a professional barista serving coffee which was delicious every morning along with great Twinings tea with lots of options. The roof top bar is a stunning place to be and the staff here were excellent too, very friendly, again very knowledgeable and helping us to go to places to see and do things. This is where we spent two evenings as the odds of seeing the Northern Lights were very high for the area so we were outside most of the time on the roof searching!! The hotel is in the business area of Trondheim, next to the Rock Music Museum but everything is in walking distance and the train station is 5 minutes away. If flying into Trondheim take the train as cheaper and very efficient and better scenery, the shuttle bus is very expensive £36 approx return and no longer stops at the hotel so you either walk or get an Uber.

I expected the hotel to be very good, but it turned out to be much more than that. Very comfortable room, with a wonderful view of the sunset (at least my room was in that direction), cleanliness was at a high level. The shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom were Rituals, which I really like and you can buy at reception if you want. The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of fruit and nice coffee (prepared personally by a restaurant employee). A great bar on the top floor, with a very spacious terrace and a wonderful view of the city and the bay. Very friendly staff. The hotel has a direct connection to underground parking, which is very convenient, especially in Trondheim. I hope to stay here again someday.

Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience. Everything was really nice - the food, receptionists, the whole stuff was amazing. The room I stayed in was a single-room and was spacious enough and super clean.
